Motor Enthusiasts' Club

Welcome to the Motor Enthusiasts Club (mec.ie) web
site. The Club has organised both car and
bike events for almost 55 years and, had it not been for
those young enthusiasts fifty years ago, the club would not
be what it is today, Over the years we
have run motorcycle trials, circuit racing,hillclimbs,
rallies, autotests, road racing, and sporting trials
(mudplugs) and in most cases still do....
I helped and participated at many events in the more
recent past and then in 1998 I was invited to join the
committee, and it was then I realised the amount of
planning and work that goes into organising each of our
events run throughout the year. The
satisfaction when an event goes well; most importantly the
competitors are pleased, they have had a good days
competition.
Our web site gives up to date information on all our
events, whether you are a competitor looking for an entry
form, or the results after an event, or even an enthusiast,
who wants to go out for a look to see what its all
about. There are names of all committee
members on the web site so come out and talk to any of them
at our meetings. We are always looking for
new members, and helpers to keep the sport running to the
high standards which are required nowadays by everyone.
